4Ward Land Surveying was established in 2009 to provide a higher level of surveying service that is more attentive to the client’s needs. 4Ward focuses on producing a high-quality product that addresses the client’s current and future needs on their site. We use the most advanced equipment and CAD programs to efficiently produce projects that are complete and accurate.
Our team is continuously researching and learning about new technology to utilize to become more efficient and cost-effective while continuing to maintain high standards. We rely on client references, word-of-mouth referrals, and our work product, which exceeds our client’s expectations.

Jason Ward
RPLS, CEO
Jason and Beth founded 4Ward Land Surveying in 2009, growing the company from a one-man operation to the larger, reputable firm it is today. Jason began his surveying career in 1998 as an instrument operator and quickly discovered his passion for land surveying. After gaining experience in the field, he advanced to a CAD Technician which provided him the opportunity to expand his knowledge of surveying. As he worked on completing his bachelor’s degree at Texas State University-San Marcos, he took on the responsibility of Project Management. In 2001 he completed his Surveyor-In-Training certification and became a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in 2004. Jason’s project experience includes public works projects, residential subdivisions, commercial developments, office/warehouse complexes, multi-family, retail centers, oil and gas projects, and many others.
Jason has been a member of the Austin chapter (Ch. 13) of the Texas Society of Professional Land Surveyors since 2004. He has served on the Executive Committee from 2006 – 2013 including a term as Chapter 13 President. Jason also co-developed a para-professional course and taught at the annual TSPS Symposium.
In his free time, Jason enjoys spending time at home with his family and working around his property on his tractor. Every fall you’ll find him watching college football and cheering on the Longhorns!
Beth Ward
CPA, CFO
Beth co-founded 4Ward in 2009 supporting business operations while working as a CPA for a commercial real estate developer. Beth graduated from Texas State University-San Marcos with a BBA and Masters in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas. In the early years she assisted with field work on the weekends and days off. After years of working nights and weekends, she has transitioned to 4Ward full time. Beth supports day to day operations overseeing all financials aspects of the firm. Her experience managing accounting teams and working closely with project development teams strengthens the management team and aids in growing and diversifying the business.
In her free time, Beth spends time with Jason and their three kids, Harper, Emmy and Gavin who love to be outdoors, swimming and running around their property.

Steven Duarte
RPLS, Senior Project Manager
Steven is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Texas with more than 26 years of professional experience in land surveying, construction layout, aerial and LiDAR mapping services. Steven’s project portfolio includes a breadth of various public works projects including surveying for water, wastewater, stormwater/drainage and transportation plans. Additionally, he has extensive experience in large private development projects such as residential subdivisions, commercial buildings, office/warehouse complexes, multi-family developments, retail centers, communication towers, churches, mid-rise condominiums, hospitals and schools. Steven’s passion for surveying is exhibited through his attention to detail, consistency and drive to meet project deadlines, and fostering client relationships.
Ryan Brittain
Senior Project Manager
Ryan, a Senior Project Manager with over 35 years of land surveying experience, exemplifies passion and dedication in his field. His expertise in condominium plats and his ability to build strong partnerships with clients across various market sectors highlight his commitment to excellence. Ryan’s guidance throughout the surveying process ensures clients receive timely and accurate deliverables. By working diligently with attorneys and clients, Ryan continues to lead the way forward, consistently exceeding expectations and elevating standards in the land surveying industry.
Carey Johnson
Senior Project Manager
Carey is a third-generation land surveyor with more than 16 years of professional experience. Carey’s passion for surveying has grown to include geospatial surveying solutions — GIS mapping and asset management, aerial LiDAR for topography to terrestrial units for 3D modeling and digitally navigable as-builts, and subsurface utility mapping. This passion has led Carey to develop client deliverables that ride the cutting edge of capabilities while maintaining usability within established surveying and engineering workflows.
Paul Guerrero
RPLS, Project Manager
Paul, a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas, brings over 23 years of professional experience in land surveying. He is dedicated to delivering excellence through clear communication and a deep understanding of project scopes, ensuring clients receive the best-fit deliverables. Paul’s extensive experience includes large land development, construction, and roadway projects across Texas. Additionally, he enhances our team’s expertise with his project management experience in the renewable energy sector, including ALTA surveys for transmission lines and subsurface utility investigations.
Fernando Perez
RPLS, Project Manager
Fernando is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Texas with more than 8 years of professional experience in land surveying, with expertise in boundary, topographic and tree surveys for large commercial projects with an emphasis on Industrial & Multi-Family projects. His expertise also includes route surveys for Municipalities and Utility Districts. Fernando’s passion for surveying is executed through his critical thinking and problem solving skills, where he thrives on assessing each project from multiple angles to consult with clients on best-fit services to yield deliverables that meet overall project goals.
Joseph Lopez
Project Manager - Construction Staking
Joseph oversees all aspects of the Construction Layout Services team from bidding contracts to employee management and contractor communications. With 20 years’ experience in land surveying, Joseph wasthe second 4Ward employee and has been instrumental in establishing 4Ward as a reputable and reliable provider of Construction Layout Services. He has managed projects in private, commercial, and public works market segments. Joseph actively demonstrates his passion for surveying by consistently guiding, teaching, and challenging his team to strive for excellence to lead the way 4Ward.
Drew Vandiver
SIT, Project Manager
Drew is a Surveyor In Training in the State of Texas with 7 years of land surveying experience. As a Project Manager, he oversees a diverse range of projects, from intricate boundary surveys to extensive tree and topographic surveys. Drew is dedicated to delivering exceptional service that surpasses industry standards by continuously seeking innovation, adopting best practices, and prioritizing customer satisfaction. He stays ahead of industry trends, leverages new technologies, and refines processes to enhance efficiency and quality. Jeremiah Berryhill
SIT, Project Manager
Jeremiah is a Surveyor In Training in the State of Texas with 6 years of experience in land surveying. Jeremiah has experience both in public and private development projects from large tract residential subdivisions, higher education, municipal utility district boundaries, route surveys, multi-family, retail and other commercial projects. Jeremiah’s curiosity has allowed him to utilize newer technologies such as aerial and terrestrial LiDAR scanning into his projects to always strive to deliver a better quality product to his clients.
Jason Osborne
Field Crew Manager
Jason brings over 17 years of land surveying experience to his role as Field Crew Manager. With a keen eye for detail, he oversees the diverse services offered by 4Ward, providing guidance and training to ensure the company’s high standards are consistently exceeded. Jason’s expertise spans large tree, topographic, and design surveys, long linear route surveys for utilities, construction staking, boundary surveying, hydrographic and bathymetric surveying, and post-construction as-built surveys. His passion for surveying drives his commitment to delivering high-quality products to clients.

Office Manager
Michele brings over 20 years of diverse experience in business and office management to her role as Administrative Ops Manager at 4Ward. Her multifaceted background in retail, hospitality, and real estate equips her with a unique perspective, allowing her to enhance processes, streamline office operations, and provide robust support to the land surveying team. Michele excels in fostering team collaboration and elevating team culture.
